Alien and Sedition Acts

Законы об иностранцах и антиправительственной агитации. Серия законов, принятых при президенте Джоне Адамсе в конце XVIII в. Были направлены на ограничение деятельности политических радикалов, которые сочувствовали идеям Французской революции и критиковали федералистскую политику Адамса. В ответ на введение этих законов Томас Джефферсон и Джеймс Медисон составили текст «Резолюций штатов Виргиния и Кентукки», где отстаивали права штатов
